Some date Zoroaster based on linguistic evidence as early as the thirteenth century BC, contemporary with Moses. Some assert he is mythical. Most use the dates given above.

In some cases, one name refers to several authors.

Isaiah probably wrote chapters 1-39 about 700 BC. A Jewish exile living in Babylonia (555–539 BC) probably wrote chapters 40-55. A third author probably wrote chapters 56-66 between 540 and 500 BC. Some scholars think Baruch wrote chapters 26-45 of Jeremiah, a third person wrote chapters 46-51, and that chapter 52 is much later. Some scholars argue that much of Ezekiel was added or rewritten as late as 300 BC. Ezekiel 40-48 contains material that contradicts other parts of scripture (e.g., compare Ezekiel 46:6 with Numbers 28:11).

At this writing, there is no credible evidence that George W. Bush lied (that is, intentionally made statements he thought false) when he chose war against Iraq. Just the opposite. See Corera (2013) and Chapter 13, note 3 and Chapter 15 notes 14 and 16 for the actual reasons, which included but went far beyond the assumed existence of WMDs,

“Physical assault that revolts the conscience and is carried out over a prolonged period against a victim under complete control and holding the possibility of permanent physical or psychic damage.” If treatment contains these elements, it is torture. If not, it may be brutal, nasty, rough, coercive, or humiliating, but it is not torture, at least under US law.

Attorney General Eric Holder dropped charges of torture by the Bush CIA of 101 Guantanamo detainees after a Special Prosecutor found no evidence to warrant prosecution (Wall Street Journal 11 Sep 2012).

Nothing prevents someone or an organization such as the World Wildlife Fund from bidding on one or all of the permits each year then not exercising the right to hunt.

Asking a group of people to rank the Ten Commandments by importance (no ties allowed) then comparing results should make the point. The dustup over freedom of speech vs. “hate speech” (including books, cartoons, and films) directed at Islam and leading to riots and murder further illustrates the problem.

An established, widely respected NGO operating internationally.

A possible solution is denying non-dues paying workers the union contract, leaving them to make their own agreement with employers over salary and benefits. A possible consequence is the best workers negotiating their own contract independently, leaving the union with a membership consisting of the poorest workers.
