Introduction

I would like to begin by thanking the Committee for the invitation to take part in this symposium. I am very grateful to be included in the wider cir­cle of Adela Yarbro Collins’s legacy. Her impact on the field of NT Stud­ies is profound. I tell my students that whereas they can read my work to find out what might have happened, they can count on Collins’s interpreta­tions to preserve what actually happened.
