THE COVENANT BETWEEN HEAVEN AND EARTH
The seven cosmic shells serve a spiritual purpose: they join the perishable and mortal form of the created universe, cognized on the scale of the thirty-second layer, and the imperishable and immortal form of the Supreme Being, cognized on the scale of the fortieth layer.
This is the real covenant between heaven and earth. The Book of Genesis tells us that the sign of this covenant is the “bow seen in the cloud”—the rainbow, the spectrum of seven colors. The rainbow thus symbolizes the spectrum of seven shells, which serve to join mortality and immortality. The covenant has the form of the seven shells—the seven aspects of the unborn Creator. Genesis goes on to tell us the gist of the covenant, which consisted of a promise: Jehovah Elohim promised to Noah that the earth will never again be destroyed by a cosmic flood.
