This book came about as the result of a symposium jointly hosted by the Australian Centre of Private Law in the TC Beirne School of Law, the University of Queensland and the Bar Association of Queensland in Brisbane on 24 July 2014.
Some of the papers were presented on that day and others were solicited indepenÂdently by the editors in order to complement the many themes explored on that occasion.We would like to express our gratitude to all those who participated in the very lively and productive day of discussion in Brisbane, and to the Bar Association of Queensland for making its excellent facilities available to us.
