Samia Bano is Reader in Family Law and Law, Multiculturalism and Rights, School of Law, SOAS, University of London. Samia has published widely in the field of Muslim Family Law in Britain, gen­der equality and human rights.

Her forthcoming monograph enti- Aed CultuaRMeitjlslamandEniglish FcimiLciW lsduet,o be published shortly (Palgrave Macmillan).

Naheed Ghauri is a qualified family lawyer and an Associate Research Fellow, School of Law, Birkbeck College, University of London. Her research interests relate to domestic abuse, gender studies, re­ligious arbitration and mediation and Shari’a Councils interacting with English family courts and human rights.

Elham Manea is a professor of political science, specialized on the MENA region and Women under Muslim Laws, a writer and a hu­man rights advocate. She is Swiss Yemeni and works at the political science department, Zurich University.

Rebecca Probert is Professor of Law at the University of Exeter. Her research focuses on the law and history of marriage, bigamy, di­vorce and cohabitation, and she is the author of numerous arti­cles and books. Her most recent monograph is Tying the Knot: The FoτmationofM-aττiagel836-2020 (2021) published by Cam­bridge University Press.

Islam Uddin completed his PhD in Law at Middlesex University. His research explored Muslim Family Law with a focus on marriage and divorce among the British Muslim population. He is an imam and a lecturer at a private institute in London. He teaches classical and contemporary Islamic law.
