ANTI-MALARIAL AGENTS
No single antimalarial agent is effective against all stages of parasite. Current drugs may be divided into:
a. Drugs acting on hepatic phase (Tissue Schizonticidals), which destroy the sporozoites, prevent hepatic schizogony or prevent erythrocyte invasion by merozoites. These drugs are used for chemoprophylaxis or radical cure in Pv malaria.
b. Drugs acting on erythrocytic phase (RBC Schizonticidal), which inhibit erythrocytic schizogony and rupture of infected RBCs. These drugs are used for treatment of
