One of the most problematic topics in legal theory is, and has been, the doctrine of the one right answer.

A lot of scholars have critically dealt with this doctrine in many texts - either directly or indirectly. For instance, from one point of view, the theory of coherence focuses on the basis of the doctrine of one right answer. However, it seems to me that the most important critical reflection on that doctrine is moral-philosophical as to its nature (Aarnio, Alexy and Peczenik 1981, 257, 274; Peczenik 1989, 301). As was mentioned before, this critical view may be qualified as a moderate conventionalist relativism.
