12.4 THE LAST THING TO DO WITH THE DOCUMENT

This section is really about the second-to-the-last thing to do with the document. The last thing you should do is file it with the court. But the last proofreading method you should use with your document is to read it aloud, out of order. Either start in the middle, start on the last page and then read the second-to-the-last page, and so on, or mix up the pages and read them in a random order. Whichever method you use, your goal is to pay attention to individual words and sentences rather than to get swept away by your no doubt fascinating discussion of the law.
