8.4.10 STATEMENT OF THE CASE
Supreme Court Rule 24.1(g) asks for a “concise statement of the case, setting out the facts material to the consideration of the questions presented.” Although writing an effective statement of the case is addressed in Chapter Nine, for now you should keep in mind that the statement usually includes both facts and procedure and always includes citation to the record, the joint appendix, and/or the appendix to the petition for the writ of certiorari.16
