THE UNIVERSAL AHA EXPERIENCE
On the scale of the thirty-third layer, the soul cognizes the truth about the universe—that it is both created and uncreated at the same time: created by means of the particles of force and matter, and uncreated by means of the particles of mind, which give rise to the particles of force and matter.
This occurs when the field of sattva becomes “heated” by divine will. At that point, the particles of sattva engage in various combinations and permutations that give rise to created particles of force and matter. These two truths—that the universe is both created and uncreated at the same time—are cognized in a balanced manner on the scale of the thirty-third layer. The thirty-third layer was represented by the thirty-third and final consonant in the classical Sanskrit alphabet, the phoneme ha. This was considered the seed formula of Brahma, the Creator, however, the Vedic rules of phonetic conjunction (sandhi) state that if the letter h, ordinarily pronounced as ha, stands as the final letter in a sequence of letters, then the hard ha sound is transformed into the soft vocal sound of aha, made by breathing through the letter h.
In devanagari script, the final form of h, different from an initial h, is written in the form of two dots placed one above the other, like a colon (:). These represent the two truths cognized on the scale of the thirty-third layer, the scale of the divine Ha. The lower dot represents the lower truth, that the universe is created, and the upper dot represents the higher truth, that the universe is uncreated. When the soul ascends to the thirty-third layer and cognizes these two truths in a balanced manner, it obtains the ultimate Aha experience regarding the created-uncreated reality of the universe.
