The Battle for the Donbas

The Battle for the Donets Basin region (known as “the Donbas”) is a move by Russia to complete the stranglehold on the industrial economy of Ukraine. As I write, this has been half secured by Russia. Their plan is obviously to liberate the region, and establish pro-Russian communist governments that will subject themself to a reborn USSR.

I am not sure how a lightweight Ukrainian fighter can defeat the old heavyweight Russian wrestler here. Perhaps the battle will have to be fought elsewhere, on a battlefield of politics and global opinion?

Or Zelensky might have a surprise in reserve?
