Acknowledgments

We extend our appreciation to Susan Rhyner, Angela Collins, and Stephen Druding at Lippincott Williams & Wilkins for their seemingly tireless help and encouragement during the arduous preparation of the seventh edition of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

We continue to be grateful for the innovative art provided by Rob Duckwall and Dragonfly Media Group for this edition and Joyce Lavery in previous editions and for the thoughtful indexing of Barbara Hodgson, which adds to the usefulness of the book for new learners. A special “shout out” goes to our development editor Kelly Horvath, whose wisdom and insight into the educational process as well as the needs of the reader can be seen throughout the final product. We would also like to thank Bill Bates, Barbara Barzansky, and other contributors to the six previous editions for their valuable input, which has provided such a strong base for this edition and those to follow. We again extend our traditional special thanks to Carol-Lynn Brown, wherever she is, our first editor, for her foresight and support in the early development of this book.
