Introduction
This chapter provides a concise overview of ethical dimensions of obstetrics and gynaecology, based on the professional responsibility model of ethics in obstetrics and gynaecology (1-3). We first describe this model. We then demonstrate its relevance to three especially timely domains of ethics in obstetrics and gynaecology of importance to all obstetrician-gynaecologists: clinical ethical topics in gynaecology, clinical ethical topics in obstetrics, and professionally responsible advocacy in obstetrics and gynaecology.
