The effect of education of midwives and obstetricians on childbirth- related trauma with prolonged labour, prolonged active pushing in the second stage of labour, and spontaneous and instrumental va­ginal deliveries needs to be studied. Maternal morbidity statistics should include damage to the pelvic floor from vaginal delivery. The role of regular reminders from healthcare professionals to perform pelvic floor exercises in women on a long-term basis to have an im­pact on pelvic floor health needs to be studied.
