The following are GAO’s comments on the Office of Personnel Management’s letter dated January 15, 2009.

GAO Comments

1. We modified our report to reflect OPM’s establishment of a team to determine the feasibility of issuing a governmentwide direct-hire authority for veterinarians.

2. We modified our report to include OPM’s recent approval of USDA’s direct-hire authority request.
