Fibrous joints
Eibrous joints are immovable joints and the bones forming them are united by dense Iibrous connective tissue, e.g. in the skull. Iibrous joints unite the majority of the component bones and are called sutures. The

teeth are attached to the bony sockets in the jaw bone by fibrous joints.
Fibrous joints are also classed as synarthroses, i.e. a type of joint that permits little or no movement. Some cartilaginous joints also Iall into this category.
