Fleas
The major flea of the European rabbit is Spilopsyllus cuniculi, which was purposely introduced to Australia to facilitate transmission of myxomatosis. It can occasionally be found on cats. The most common fleas of North American domestic rabbits are Cediopsylla simplex (common eastern rabbit flea) and Odontopsyllus multi- spinosus (giant rabbit flea). Dog and cat Ctenocephalides fleas are also known to infest rabbits.
