About the Editors
Prof. Dr. Bernur Acikgiiz was born in 1979 in Ankara. After attending Ankara Finance High School, she continued her undergraduate studies at Dokuz Eylul University, Department of Finance.
She received her master’s degree in Financial Law from Dokuz Eylul University. In 2006, she was awarded her Ph.D. degree from Dokuz Eylul University Department of Public Finance. Her Ph.D. thesis covered the topics of poverty and development.In 2006, she won the Harvard University Project scholarship and worked as a visiting professor at Harvard University. In 2009, she received a scholarship from the Swiss Government for a post-doctorate degree in economics at the University of NeuchatelZSwitzerland, and taught courses at Bern Universities. She then began to work in the fields of experimental economics and game theory, and for three consecutive years as a guest lecturer in the economics laboratory of the Montpellier University in Montpellier, France. Afterwards, she went to Missouri University, Indiana University and Arizona University with a scholarship from Missouri University. She then worked as a visiting professor at the University of East Anglia and took some courses from Exeter Universities in the UK with a Tubitak scholarship.
Shehas books, articles and papers on foreign direct investments, economic growth, panel econometrics, experimental economics and game theory. She is currently working at the Department of Public Finance and Financial Management at Izmir Katip Qelebi UniversityZTurkey. In addition, Acikgoz teaches at the Department of International Trade and Finance at Izmir University of EconomicsZTurkey and the Department of Economics at University of Life Sciences in Poznari (Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy w PoznaniujZPoland.
Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Attila Acar graduated from Department of Management, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Dokuz Eylul University in 1990.
He received his master’s degree in Public Finance from Dokuz Eylul University. He was awarded his Ph.D. degree from Dokuz Eylul University Department of Public Finance.He has books, articles and papers on public strategic management, public financial management and control law (Law No: 5018), health and education economy, refugees crisis, auditing, financial management and budgeting. He is a member of the Specialization Commission in the 9th, 10th, 11th Development Plans and involved in quality, effectiveness, university rankings, European University Association higher education assessment and rating studies in higher education.
He worked as a panelist and independent evaluator of TUBItAK and Development Agencies. He participated in programs in written and visual media. He prepared and presented the Economic Agenda program at TRT for many years. The analyzes are located in its own website, acarhoca.com. He worked at Suleyman Demirel University for 10 years. And he is currently working at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Izmir Katip Qelebi University. He was the Vice Rector and the founding dean at the same university.
