4 Tenancies or licences granted by persons with limited interests
5.70 Section 2 expressly exempts from its operation any short-term letting or licence granted by a person whose interest in the land concerned is itself less than a tenancy from year to year, and which has not taken effect as a yearly tenancy by virtue of the section. This is very rarely encountered in practice.
