8.5.2 ISSUE
Some courts require attorneys who file motion briefs to draft formal questions presented. Others may rely on the motion itself to articulate the issue and require only an “introduction” to the issue in the brief itself. The introduction may appear under a heading just below the caption. Chapter Nine discusses methods for writing both formal questions presented and introductions appropriate for motion briefs.
