Epithelioid trophoblastic tumour

Epithelioid trophoblastic tumour arises from the chorionic-type intermediate trophoblast. Occasionally, epithelioid trophoblastic tumour can coexist with choriocarcinoma or PSTT. Most epithelioid trophoblastic tumours affect women of reproductive age and present with abnormal vaginal bleeding or amenorrhoea. The serum hCG level is usually slightly raised. Similar to PSTT, epithelioid trophoblastic tumour is mainly treated by hysterectomy because it is relatively chemo-insensitive.
