Mice are susceptible to respiratory tract infections with two members of the Paramyxovirus family,
including pneumonia virus of mice, which belongs to the genus Pneumovirus, and Sendai virus, which belongs to the genus Respirovirus. Both viruses may be associated with clinical disease, depending upon immune competence of the host.
