How Religion Affects Organizational Dissent, Relational Conflict, and Conflict Styles

The following section summarizes the lit­erature reviewing how conflict and religion have been studied in association with dissent, relational conflict, and conflict styles. This review of the field demonstrates that while the literature linking conflict to these areas of communication scholarship is vast, analyses of the links/relationships between religion, con­flict, and these areas of scholarship are sparse.

The review that follows in not an entirely comprehensive review of these areas; it, how­ever, provides a glimpse into the inner work­ings of religion, conflict, and various areas of communication scholarship. These areas have been chosen because research has explored the inner links between each of them and religion. Moreover, each of these areas of scholarship is a potential area for conflict.
