Conclusion

PAD in HIV-infected patients is not well understood. So far, peripheral atherosclero­sis has not been well dissociated from coro­nary artery disease in these patients. Vas- culitides remain very rare in HIV individu­als and their prevalence may be underesti­mated.

More detailed studies are needed to improve our understanding of this particu­lar pathology in HIV-1 infected patients.
