DELIVERY ROOM CARE AND NEONATAL RESUSCITATION
Safe delivery is a critical component of maternal and child health care, to ensure smooth and uneventful childbirth as well as maternal well-being. Depending on the anticipated risk of complications, a delivery may be planned at peripheral health centers or referral centers.
Delivery room care may be divided into two components: (a) basic or essential delivery room care to all newborns, and (b) neonatal resuscitation, an emergency that may arise in any, specially high-risk newborns.
