Pseudomonas aeruginosa Infection

Under conditions of chronic moisture, such as wet dew­laps, P. aeruginosa may be associated with exudative dermatitis. Chronically wet fur may also foster growth of P. aeruginosa, resulting in “green fur syndrome.” In addition, an outbreak of pneumonia and diarrhea has been associated with P. aeruginosa. These are environ­mental conditions that can be managed with chlorina­tion of the water.
