DEVELOPMENTAL BONE DISORDERS
Developmental bone disorders may be broadly divided into two groups—(a) congenital malformations, and (b) developmental defects of normally formed skeleton, which is deformed subsequently due to abnormal uterine posture or pressure.
While congenital malformations are obvious at birth and remain static throughout the life, developmental defects are easily missed in younger children, only to manifest later, after worsening of deformity following rapid musculoskeletal growth.
