Polycystic Disease

Certain strains of mice, such as BALB/c mice, are prone to congenital cysts of varying size in the kidneys. In some cases, these cysts are quite large and impinge on renal function, resulting in mortality at an early age.

Renal Tubular Hyaline Bodies

Hyaline eosinophilic bodies in the cytoplasm of renal tubules may be observed in association with histiocytic sarcomas involving distant tissue sites (Fig. 1.121).
